ABOUT ME

With a professional background in advertising/marketing and PR my particular strength is the localisation of promotional messages for the local market and writing interesting and engaging copy.

I am a German national, but have been living in England since 1986. I have graduated in 1999 with a First Class Honours Degree in 'Visual Culture', i.e. critical media analysis assessing Film, Advertising, Press, Literature and Art, examining a diverse range of philosophies, communication and socio/political issues.

Following my degree I have worked in marketing for several years, writing copy for prospectuses, leaflets, posters and countless stories for the press. Nowadays my work consists of 90% translations, working as a copywriter and PR consultant the rest of the time. (For further information please take a look at pointblank at http://www.pointblankcopy.co.uk). I also have a strong interest in environmental concerns and have recently started researching and campaigning for better waste management and recycling. My dedicated website http://www.pointmade.co.uk  for this specific area may serve as evidence of my research, writing and editorial skills.

I am translating for several companies/agencies in the fields of leisure & tourism, building & construction, marketing & design, the arts and the private business sector. Three times a year I translate an entire company magazine for a manufacturer of construction chemicals that is distributed to its global clients and members of staff. Previously a 4-page article of mine appeared in Ceramic Review and I regularly produce press releases for local companies, predominantly for the regional press. I am an open-minded individual with an inquisitive mind, able to tackle most topics.
